Fulton–The city of Fulton, which was damaged severely during Hurricane Harvey has passed a resolution on behalf of their citizens calling for Attorney General Ken Paxton to investigate the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association on various charges.
The resolution, which Fulton Mayor Jimmy Kendrick will be hand delivering to Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday, was unanimously passed and authorized by the Fulton City Council at a meeting on Tuesday night.
The resolution asks the Attorney General to investigate how so many TWIA claims have gone unpaid in the 2 ½ years since the storm. The city argues that the delay has caused hardships on its citizens and has created economic recovery issues along the way.
Mayor Kendrick, who has been an outspoken advocate for his community said that the resolution has also been distributed to State Senator Lois Kholkorst and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
It is unclear if the Attorney General’s office will take action.
