TWIA confirmed on Friday that Board member and chairman of the organization, Bryan Schofner has resigned.
Shofner held a Non Seacoast Territory Representative position on the Board and had been at the center of serious allegations in recent weeks.
TWIA said in a statement that First Tier Coastal Representative Chandra Franklin-Womack who serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors will chair the next scheduled meeting of the Board, February 18 in Austin.
We have also learned that Schofner has taken a new role with Houston-based wholesale insurance broker and managing general agency, LP Risk. There he will serve as the director of operations. LP Risk confirmed that information on Saturday.
It was also announced this week that Coastal Bend Republican lawmaker J.M. Lozano has been appointed TWIA Legislative Oversight Board which is a group of state lawmakers which are being appointed to oversee the beleaguered Association. Lozano’s appointment takes effect immediately.
