CORPUS CHRISTI–Emergency crews from several agencies spent hours fighting a large fire near Interstate 37 and Buddy Lawrence Drive in Corpus Christi, Monday morning.
Emergency responders closed I-37 in both directions due to the fire and residents in the area of the fire were advised to shelter in place.
Oak Park Elementary, Driscoll Middle School & Miller High School were under shelter-in-place due to the fire, as well. The shelter-in-place was lifted at all three schools by 11:30 a.m. and shortly after the Interstate was re-opened.
