Super Tuesday is a big event to political wonks and candidates around the state. But on Monday a series of robocalls went off telling some Texans that they can opt to vote by phone in their respective primaries. Others were getting calls from the same number reminding them that tomorrow is Super Tuesday. There is just one problem—you cannot vote by phone.

On Monday evening we received a series of calls and messages from folks around South Texas saying that they had been contacted by various numbers listed to the 210 area code. One caller even attempted to question them about who it was that was calling? Their answer was simply a research company.

We called two of the numbers and both times we received a voicemail that simply said “we are conducting polling in your area.” There was no firm or group listed.

We received complaints from folks in Freer, Robstown, Corpus Christi and Karnes City saying that they all had similar experiences.

But the fact is that “Super Tuesday” is upon us and no, you cannot vote via telephone.
