In todays Reflection we are thinking about the global scare of the highly contagious COVID-19 virus that has so much in turmoil. As schools delay the start of classes, events cancelled and people struggle to cope with the concern and the worry of what tomorrow might bring, we?find that even the faithful can succumb to the fears of the world.
However, regardless of ones faith they hope that things will get better. As Christians, that promise is found in the book of Second Timothy in the New Testament. It says:
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7.
The promise of these simple words speaks to all of us telling us that we should not fear and that we have power in love and we have a sound mind to help us make wise and prudent decisions.
As we face this global threat and this uncertain world, may we use the direction in this scripture to help us understand and cope with it all–without fear.
