A man has reportedly died by suicide at one of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s family detention centers, according to the advocacy group that has been representing him while he was in custody.
RAICES, the group providing the man’s representation did not immediately identify him. ICE did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but the Associated Press is reporting that the death occurred at the Karnes County Residential Center in South Texas.
The man’s death marks the ninth in custody death since October.
